[PRESS RELEASE] NovoServe Partners With German Venture Capital Firm, BE Beteiligungen Fonds GmbH

Doetinchem, the Netherlands, January 19, 2017 – NovoServe, a Netherlands based IaaS hosting provider delivering custom engineered dedicated servers and virtual servers, announces its strategic partnership with BE Beteiligungen Fonds GmbH – a private equity company with an invested capital totaling more than 60 million euros. The partnership agreement includes BE Beteiligungen Fonds’ management partner Rolf Brodbeck taking up the position as Chairman of the Board at NovoServe.

Founded in early 2015, NovoServe is an IaaS hosting company established by Herke Plantenga – a seasoned entrepreneur who previously co-founded Virtu Secure Webservices B.V. – a data center services company with three data centers located in the Netherlands (Enschede, Amsterdam, Zwolle) that was named to the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 three years in a row and acquired by Equinix in 2008.

Dedicated Servers, Virtual Servers

NovoServe is aiming at providing bare metal dedicated servers and virtual servers with a competitive price/performance ratio, while putting great emphasis on custom engineering design for the server and network infrastructures delivered to customers worldwide.

As co-founder and managing partner of private equity company BE Beteiligungen Fonds GmbH in Cologne, Germany, Rolf Brodbeck brings top-level leadership qualities and experience to NovoServe’s leadership roster. Serving as NovoServe’s Chairman of the Board, Mr. Brodbeck will help steer the NovoServe organization in the right direction while fostering organic and inorganic international company growth.

Long-Term Partnership

“NovoServe is an IaaS hosting company with a solid and highly scalable server and network infrastructure available for its clients, a business that is poised for further European growth,” said Rolf Brodbeck. “With a long-term investment horizon, we intend to partner with entrepreneurs and management teams that have track records of successes. Herke Plantenga is a business partner with impressive entrepreneurial credentials. His most significant achievement as an entrepreneur until now surely is the sale of Virtu to Equinix in 2008.”

“The founder's focused growth strategy attracted us as BE Beteiligungen Fonds to invest in this young company,” added Mr. Brodbeck. “Herke Plantenga's profound experience and expertise provide a safety factor for the viability of NovoServe’s business model. For us, the quality of leadership is a distinguishing factor. This also includes the soft factor of social leadership competence as well as actual personal success achieved at previous companies. Both are good indicators for management qualification. I would also like to stress that our strategy is not only focused on investing capital, but on assisting in the operations of the businesses we invest in as well and leveraging the operational and management resources available within our firm.”

Owned Data Centers

NovoServe’s engineering efforts are focused on serving service providers, resellers and end user clients with the latest, proven hosting technologies available. The company’s engineer-backed solutions include dedicated servers, virtual servers (VPS hosting), managed services, web hosting services, and more.

“NovoServe helps organizations sharpen their competitive advantage by making highly customized IaaS hosting infrastructure accessible against competitive price levels,” said Herke Plantenga. “For our customers on a regional and international scale, even the most demanding ones, we have already proven to be game-changing. We’re honored that BE Beteiligungen as an investor and management partner is recognizing the value and promise of NovoServe. With BE, we have a financially strong equity partner at our side, who will help accelerate our further growth while able to support us in a spirit of partnership and meet investment requirements for infrastructure, technology, personnel and marketing."

The acquisition of three data centers in the cities of Doetinchem and Enschede, the larger of which was previously operated by global IT security company Avira, has been the infrastructure base for NovoServe in the Netherlands. Later on, NovoServe additionally moved into a co-located facility in Germany in Frankfurt/M. at the data center campus of Telehouse. NovoServe is now present here with data center infrastructure and offices, as well as a network PoP connecting the Germany-based facility with NovoServe’s cross-border network backbone and its data centers located in the Netherlands. According to BE Beteiligungen Fonds, NovoServe’s highly secured data center environment is a quality feature of the Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) hosting products being delivered to customers which includes highly customized dedicated servers and virtual servers (VPS hosting).
