[PRESS RELEASE] NovoServe Acquires IAF, Twents Datacentrum and Security Company Avira’s Data Center

Doetinchem, the Netherlands, 3 January 2016 – NovoServe, an IaaS hosting provider headquartered in the Netherlands delivering custom engineered dedicated servers and virtual servers, announces the acquisition of Internet Access Facilities (IAF) including Twents Datacentrum (TDC) in Enschede as well as the acquisition of global security firm Avira’s data center in Doetinchem.

By acquiring Internet Access Facilities B.V. and its sister company Twents Datacentrum B.V. located in Enschede, as well as Avira’s data center located in Doetinchem, NovoServe now has two company-owned data centers available for housing its dedicated servers in a cost-efficient manner.

“As a result, with owned data center locations now available in Doetinchem and Enschede, NovoServe is now set for accelerated international growth,” said Herke Plantenga, co-founder and CEO of NovoServe. “The accumulated years of engineering and hosting services experience of the IAF, TDC, and Avira data center employees will add to the quality of IaaS hosting services and support we’re able to deliver to our customers.” Internet Roots, 1992

By acquiring Internet Access Facilities B.V., NovoServe’s Internet roots now go back to the early days of the Internet, as IAF was initially founded in 1992 as Internet Access Foundation, an NGO so to say, an ISP pioneer on the European market. Internet Access Foundation was being established as an extension to the early-day Internet infrastructure development efforts in the United States

“NovoServe will continue to provide the services delivered by IAF and TDC and will expand the existing portfolio with new dedicated server and virtual server offerings, as well as various engineering management and support services,” added Mr. Plantenga. “The expanded IaaS hosting product portfolio will soon be available on the NovoServe website where clients will be able to easily order and manage these new and existing IaaS hosting services online. With our extended engineering knowledge present in the field of server and network infrastructures and an established ecosystem of systems integration partners, we’re now also a good fit for larger digital transformation projects.”

Well-known for their antivirus software Avira Internet Security, Avira is a Germany-based, privately-owned company with global operations employing 500 people. The company has additional offices in Romania, India, Singapore, China, Japan and the United States. The acquired data center from Avira in Doetinchem, the Netherlands has a sky-wide distance of 46 kilometers (29 miles) with the acquired TDC data center in Enschede, which makes it ideal for active/active data center concepts.
